Florida Beverage Association Announces Second Year of Its Community Grant Program
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FBA supports healthy and environmentally sustainable communities
The Florida Beverage Association (FBA) is pleased to announce the commencement of the second year of its Florida Beverage Association Grant Program. The grant program provides support to organizations and programs that promote nutrition, physical activity and health and wellness initiatives, as well as environmental sustainability programs.
“The Florida Beverage Association and its member companies were impressed with the caliber of applicants from our first year of the grant program,” Executive Director Liz DeWitt said. “We were pleased to award grants to Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces for their commitment to promote nutrition, physical activity and health initiatives, as well as the Science and Environment Council for their focus on environmental sustainability programs.”
Grant applications should be submitted by Oct. 31, 2016. In order to be considered for a grant, all nominees must meet the requirements listed in the “Grant Program Criteria” found HERE. Most grants awarded through the FBA program will be for $25,000 or less. However, special programs and unique circumstances may justify a larger grant. In addition, some grant applications may be eligible for a matching grant from the American Beverage Foundation for a Healthy America (ABFHA).
“The Florida Beverage Association and its member companies are committed to improving the communities where we live, work, and play,” Executive Director Liz DeWitt said. “We recognize that we cannot have a healthy and growing business unless the communities we serve are healthy and sustainable.”
“We look forward to reviewing the next round of qualified applicants as they pursue innovative initiatives to improve the lives of their residents,” added DeWitt.
The Florida Beverage Association is no longer taking applications for its Community Organization Grant Program.
