FBA Grant Program Promotes Health Initiatives

The Florida Beverage Association (FBA) is pleased to announce the launch of the FBA Grant Program. This new FBA Grant Program will support Florida communities by providing grants to community organizations to promote nutrition, physical activity, and health and wellness initiatives, as well as environmental sustainability programs.

“The FBA and its member companies are committed to improving the communities where we live, work, and play,” Executive Director Liz Castro DeWitt said. “The goal of the FBA Grant Program is to support programs that advance healthy and environmentally sustainable Florida communities.”

In order to be considered for a grant, nominees must be a 501(c)(3) charitable organization or a state or local governmental entity and meet the requirements listed in the “Grant Program Criteria” found on the FBA website. FBA grants may be eligible for consideration for matching grants from the American Beverage Foundation for a Healthy America.

“We look forward to working with communities as they pursue innovative initiatives to improve the lives of their residents,” Castro DeWitt said.

Grant applications should be submitted by Oct. 15, 2015. All applications will be reviewed by the FBA Grant Subcommittee. Grant recipients will be selected and notified by the FBA Board of Directors by Dec. 31, 2015.
