FBA Awards Grant to 'Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful'

FEB. 9, 2017 – The Florida Beverage Association (FBA) is pleased to announce the award of a $5,000 grant to Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful (KTBB) for its Rain Barrel Education Program. The goal of the FBA Grant Program is to support initiatives that advance healthy and environmentally sustainable Florida communities. The grant is jointly funded by the Florida Beverage Association and the American Beverage Foundation for a Healthy America.

Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful, Inc. provides environmental education and opportunities for volunteers to give back to their community through cleanups, habitat restoration and beautification projects.

“Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful provides a unique experience for individuals to make a local impact,” said Debra Evenson, Executive Director of KTBB. “We offer a variety of service projects to work with groups of all ages. We use the three “E’s” of community engagement: Education, Environment, and Events. Combining education with service creates a cohesive community effort for change.”

“The Florida Beverage Association and its member companies are committed to improving the communities where we live, work, and play,” said Liz Castro DeWitt, Executive Director of FBA, the trade association for Florida’s non- alcoholic beverage industry. “Education helps foster behavioral change towards community preservation and environmental sustainability. We are excited to collaborate with KTBB as it inspires personal responsibility in community involvement and beautification.”

The American Beverage Foundation for a Healthy America strives to make a significant contribution to the health of local communities by providing grants to support community organizations that work to advance both the physical health of their local citizens and the environmental health of their communities. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) created and funded by America’s non-alcoholic beverage industry and reflects the industry’s long-standing tradition of giving back to communities.
