
Elizabeth DeWitt
Elizabeth “Liz” DeWitt serves as the President and CEO of the Florida Beverage Association (FBA), where she leads the organization’s public policy initiatives and collaborates with state and local governments on critical issues affecting Florida’s non-alcoholic beverage industry.
Under Liz’s leadership, FBA has championed numerous sustainability and community health programs, including the nationally recognized Capitol Recycling Program, which received the 2018 Sustainability Partnership Game Changer Award from the National Waste and Recycling Association.
Liz is recipient of the “Beverage Industry Champion Award” from the American Beverage Association, recognizing her contributions to the industry and community. A dedicated advocate for sustainability, Liz is an active member of the Technical Advisory Group to the Hinkley Center at UF on Recycling and Sustainability and has served as Chair of the Florida Recycling Partnership as well as the Florida Recycling Partnership Foundation.
Prior to joining the FBA, Liz was the Manager of State Government Affairs for LyondellBasell, the world’s third-largest petrochemical company. In this role, she directed all legislative and regulatory strategies for the company’s extensive U.S. portfolio, managed its Political Action Committee (PAC), and spearheaded grassroots activities.
Liz’s earlier career includes significant roles at BP, where she launched a nationally recognized grassroots program as the Director of the BP Civic Action Program starting in 2007. She subsequently became the Director of BP Civic Affairs in 2008, overseeing both grassroots and PAC efforts. In 2010, during the MC252 oil spill, Liz served as a Public Information Officer and Operational Liaison in the Joint Incident Command, managing crucial communications and relationships with local, county, and state-level stakeholders.
Liz’s political experience encompasses roles such as state aide to U.S. Senator Sam Brownback, finance director for his senatorial re-election campaign, Florida director of finance for his presidential campaign, and campaign manager for a successful Kansas State House race. She also served as the government affairs manager for Sprint Corporation.
Liz graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business from Northwest Missouri State University and holds a Master of Business Administration. She also earned a certificate in Public Affairs Management from the Public Affairs Council.
Beyond her professional achievements, Liz is a proud mother of two enthusiastic boys who are budding baseball stars and shares her life with a loving husband.
