“Schools play a critical role in shaping lifelong recycling habits,” said Liz DeWitt, President and CEO of the Florida Beverage Association. “We are proud to support Orange County Public Schools and the Florida Recycling Partnership Foundation in sharing proven strategies that empower students, engage educators, and improve recycling outcomes across campuses.”
Hosted by the Florida Recycling Partnership Foundation, the webinar is designed for educators, school administrators, sustainability professionals, and community members interested in strengthening recycling programs within school systems. Participants will gain practical benchmarks, best practices, and real-world insights into creating successful, student-centered recycling initiatives.
The webinar will feature:
- David Klawitter, Sustainability Manager at Orange County Public Schools, will present how OCPS is improving recycling across its campuses through innovative practices, operational improvements, and meaningful student engagement.
- Karen Moore, Environmental Administrator for the Waste Reduction (Recycling) and Waste Registration Section for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), will share an inside look at how FDEP conducts school recycling audits and key lessons learned from evaluations across the state.
The webinar underscores FBA’s continued commitment to supporting education, recycling infrastructure, and partnerships that strengthen Florida’s recycling system and advance environmental stewardship.
