The beverage industry has been working with communities and recycling groups across the country to modernize recycling systems and support consumer efforts to adopt good recycling habits.

The campaign—launched in April 2023 to reduce contamination and improve resident education—reached more than 230,000 households in Jacksonville.

Tampa Y.E.S. provides programming focused on wellness, physical activities, sports, nutrition education and meal preparation for middle school-aged girls in the Tampa area.

The grant will allow more children to take part in The Mayor’s Math & Fitness Bootcamp program in Daytona Beach.

A program to target environmental sustainability through increased placement of recycling bins and other related initiatives earned the city a $20,000 FBA Grant.

FAB board members gathered at the capital and meet with elected officials to let them know what issues are important to our industry and their constituents.

The $25,000 grant is supporting the program’s efforts to improve recycling and reduce litter in Coral Gables, including establishing a new method for recycling beverage containers.

The community grant totaling $17,500 will be used to develop an educational campaign at Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park, creating signage that reminds park visitors to recycle and help reduce litter.

The Florida Recycling Partnership Foundation is a coalition of companies with a mission to educate policymakers, business leaders, and community members about the benefits of recycling and how they can be part of the solution.

That is just one of the reasons why the Florida Beverage Association recently awarded a $25,000 community grant to the Orange County Public School (OCPS) system.

We believe that partnerships are truly the key to impacting the change we want to see and are always looking for organizations whose work will complement our goals as an association.

We know that there is so much confusion about recycling as a consumer. From what and when to how.

The transition from more relaxed summer days, to days where we are living by the calendar, can cause us to lose sight of the importance of staying hydrated.

We were thrilled to be able to provide a grant to the University of Florida (UF)/Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) and Florida Sea Grant Program’s Seabin project and to see the first of three Seabins installed and working at the Marineland Marina on Earth Day this year.

We know we need to drink water, it’s the obvious choice, but we also all enjoy the “flavors of summer” that include juices, soda, sparkling waters, and all the other liquids that are not only refreshing but sweet.

Florida beverage companies understand that, and we have made a commitment to improving our water conservation efforts as we rely on water not only as an ingredient but for the production of many of our products.

Never heard of a Seabin? They are relatively new in North America with only a handful currently installed in Canada and the US, but they are proving to be a powerful tool in clean water initiatives.
