FBA Fly-In 2023

Last week was an exciting time for your friends at the Florida Beverage Association as we made our trek to the State Capitol in Tallahassee.

The FBA Board of Directors participated in the Legislative Fly-In event on February 8, 2023, and we couldn’t have been more excited to gather at the capital and meet with elected officials to let them know what issues are important to our industry and their constituents.

What’s the Purpose for the Fly-In?

FBA Board members participated in the Fly-In, a face-to-face experience that allows our dedicated leadership team to gather as a unified group and educate policymakers on the role the beverage industry plays in Florida in terms of jobs and economic impact, as well as in industry leadership initiatives such as Every Bottle Back and the Balanced Calories Initiative.

How does this Fly-In benefit our industry? Well, while in Tallahassee, one of our important functions will be to meet with many of the state’s leaders and policymakers, including the future Senate President and Speaker of the House, Chairs of several key committees, the Commissioner of Agriculture, and elected officials representing our member company assets. The Fly-In itself is a fun and effective way to gather—but more importantly, it allows us to take proactive steps to ensure beverage interests are best represented in the legislative process.

An Important Opportunity

This month’s Fly-In is just one example of how FBA continually seeks to strengthen our connections statewide to further the interests of the companies who are dedicated to bringing the finest quality sodas, teas, juices, water and other beverage options to consumers throughout the Florida community.

Everyone benefits—from the companies represented in the FBA family to you, the consumer at the supermarket. There is just no doubt that better partnerships make a difference in every aspect of Florida’s beverage market from beverage bottling to the stocking of retail shelves happening more smoothly and affordably.
